Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today. Mr. Maeglin died Wednesday at University Hospitals, Iowa City. He retired in 1985 as a sales representative after 35 years with Standard Industrial Products Peoria, Ill.

After college, he worked at Deere Co. Mr. Maeglin married Barbara Shifflet in 1951 in Moline. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and did -graduate work at Duke University, Durham, N.C. He had an active interest in politics and social issues.

He was a member of the American Civil Liberties Union for many years, becoming more active in the organization after his retirement. He was past president of the Quad-City Chapter of the ACLU and was a speaker representing the ACLU before many organizations. Mr. Maeglin was a member of the Die Hard Cubs Fan Club. He also was a regular supporter of and contributor to the Quad-City Symphony Orchestra, radio station WVIK-FM, United Way and the University of Iowa Foundation.

He farmed until 1979 in Carroll County. After that, he hauled grain and did custom combining for 12 years. During retirement, he worked part-time for Mount Carroll Township. Mr. Kessler married Mary Schneider in 1943.

He was a member of the class of 1941 at Mount Carroll High School, where he excelled in track and football. He was a member of Cyrus Masonic Lodge 188, Mount Carroll, and was an avid sports fan. He also enjoyed gardening. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen (Mrs. Larry) Zink, Mount Carroll; sons, Ronald Tucson, and Rick Dixon; nine grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and brothers, Charles, Mount Carroll, and Gene, Thomson.

He also did carpentry work. Mr. Miller married Rose Despeghel in 1947 in Maquoketa. He was the first president of the Jackson County Cattlemen's board and the last president of Jackson County Beefmen. He also was a member of South Fork Forum, American Angus Association and Buckhorn Community Club.

He was the last director of Little Red School House and president of Buckhorn (Waterford) Cemetery Association. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cynthia (Mrs. Vern) Poll, Maquoketa; a son, David Fishers, six grandchildren; and sisters, Maxine Heinrich and Joyce Reisdorph, both of Maquoketa, and Shirley (Mrs. Robert) Barker, Delmar.

Lambert Neill Sr. CLINTON, Iowa Services for Lambert E. Neill 88, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Clinton.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today. Mr. Neill died Wednesday at his home. He retired in 1979 after 38 years as a clothing salesman and manager at Martin Syndicate Hub, Clinton.

He married Wilma Ransom in 1930 in Princeton, Mo. She died in 1961. He married Gerda Wenzel in 1962 in Clinton. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clinton, and Clinton Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He received an award from the Rotary Club for outstanding and dedicated service.

He also was a life member of Clinton Lions Club, helping start the Clinton Lions Eye Bank. He received the Warren Coleman Honorary Award for dedicated service (Iowa Lions Site and Hearing Foundation) in 1994. He was a Clinton Chamber of Commerce Man of The Year in 1958. He also was chosen man of the year by radio station KROS in Clinton. He was a former member of the 411 Clinton Firemen's Volunteer Organization.

He enjoyed miniature model railroads. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurses Association Hospice or Vision-Impaired Persons of Clinton. Survivors include his wife; a son, Lambert Kalona; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. Marjorie Bell GALVA, Ill. Services for Marjorie F.I.

Mrs. Bell died Tuesday at Kewanee Hospital. She was employed as a bookkeeper and secretary at Bell Trucking, Galva. Marjorie Johnson married Charles Bell in 1934 in Galesburg. He died in 1989.

She was a lifetime member of Messiah Lutheran Church and enjoyed baking and cooking. Memorials may be made to the church. He retired in 1975 as a methods and rates engineer at International Harvester, Farmall Works, Rock Island. Mr. Elliott married Luella Samuelson in 1942 in Rock Island.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island, and Doric Masonic Lodge 319, Moline. His hobbies included house and auto refurbishing. Memorials may be made to Illinois Heart Association or American Cancer Society. Survivors include his wife; a son, Sharon (Mrs.

Bettendorf Donald Bliss BETTENDORF Private services for Donald M. Bliss, 79, of Bettendorf, will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. There is no visitation. Mr.

Bliss died Wednesday at Manor Care, Davenport. Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bliss married Norma Puls Feldhahn in 1947 in Davenport. They owned and operated the Bliss Variety Store in Davenport until 1963.

After that, he was employed as an item manager for the Weapons Command for the U.S. Government. He served in the 82nd, 101st and 155th Airborne Divisions during World War II. He was an antiaircraft gunner in campaigns in the Ardennes, Central Europe and the Rhineland. He received several decorations, including an arrowhead for spearheading the attack from behind enemy lines during the Battle of the Bulge.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Survivors include daughters, Helen Jane (Mrs. Danny) DiAngelo, Springfield, June (Mrs. David) Rudig, Menomonee Falls, Norma (Mrs. Dennis) Williams and Pamela (Mrs.

today. Mr. Ericson died Wednesday at Vencor Hospital, Sycamore. He worked at IBP Joslin, before a motorcycle accident in August of 1990. He was a 1985 graduate of Atkinson High School and had attended Spoon River Community College.

He had played baseball and basketball at Spoon River College. He also enjoyed fishing and was a member of Aktinson United Church of Christ. in 1927 in Henderson Grove. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Henderson Grove, and the church circle. She was a volunteer many years at the Red Cross and was a member of Henderson Grove Grange, Henderson Women's Club and Wataga Senior Citizens. Memorials may be made to the church.

Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Holcomb, Galesburg; a son, Alvin P. Wataga; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Frances Mackey WAPELLO, Iowa Services for E. Frances Willard Mackey, 87, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello.

Frances Murray married Leroy Williams in 1923. She married Rex "Mike" Mackey in 1933 in Monmouth, Ill. She was a member of First Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, both of Wapello. Her hobbies and interests included playing cards. Memorials may be made to Wapello Rescue Unit.
